Kathryn Bigelow sweeps the Oscars with the Hurt Locker, making her the first woman in the history of Oscars to win a directing award.

In a star studded award ceremony at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, Hurt Locker triumphed over Avatar at the Oscars, winning Best Picture and Best Director for Kathryn Bigelow which made her the first woman in history to receive the directing award. Made for just $15 million (£10 million) the tense, low budget Iraq war drama won out over James Cameron's sprawling science fiction epic which has become the biggest grossing film of all time, taking $2.5 billion (£1.5 billion) at the box office.

Seated right behind his ex- wife Avatar director James Cameron rose to his feet and applauded at her victory. Avatar won three awards for technical categories - visual effects, cinematography and art direction.

Infosys Q3 net dips

Software major Infosys Technologies on Tuesday reported a 3.6% decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,582 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2009.

Income from software services, products and business process managment stood at Rs 5,741 crore during the quarter, a marginal decline over Rs 5,786 crore in the year-ago period as per Indian accounting rules, Infosys said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. "We maintained our margins while our cash and cash equivalents reached USD 3.1 billion," Infosys Chief Financial Officer V Balakrishnan said.

It was a cool bright sunny day in the morning, with drizzling all the way when i was driving my pulsar around 9 am in Mylapore. It was so pleasant that i was just enjoying the climate which i have never done before. Oh is it Chennai or Ooty , the busy traffic by the morning was also cool. Then came this idea of sharing my thoughts with you friends. This is my first ever blog. I have just started it up with the most beautiful place in the wold. Its my Chennai. 22 years of life 100s of friends. where can i get them. Only in my Chennai.
